What Can I Expect from Radiesse®?
The gel formulation of Radiesse® contains tiny microspheres that work as an underlying structure in the deep layers of skin where severe creases and wrinkles originate. The product is administered with a very fine needle that is tolerable by most patients, but the depth of the injections may cause some discomfort. The gel does contain lidocaine to enhance patient comfort, and Dr. Taghizadeh may also apply a numbing cream to your skin.
How Radiesse® Differ from Other Types of Injectable Fillers?
The primary difference between Radiesse® and other injectable fillers is that Radiesse® is specifically designed to treat severe wrinkles and creases. With Radiesse®, patients with more advanced signs of aging have an alternative to cosmetic surgery to look and feel younger.
Recovery from Radiesse®
The treatment area may feel tender, and you may also have some minor bruising and swelling. These symptoms can be managed with ice packs and non-prescription pain medications. After 48 to 72 hours, the symptoms should be fully resolved.
Where Can Radiesse® Be Applied?
Dr. Taghizadeh recommends Radiesse® for treating:
- Nasolabial folds
- Frown lines
- Marionette lines
Will Everyone Benefit from Radiesse®?
Clinical studies have shown that Radiesse® is a safe and effective alternative to surgery. Based on his expertise with cosmetic treatments and injectable fillers, Dr. Taghizadeh may recommend another product to achieve the desired results.
